Many of the holes remain of original and timeless character, but a programme of gentle improvements has been embarked upon to cater for modern day equipment.

Indeed playing what has matured into a gently rolling parkland course, it is difficult to believe it is so close to the centre of Wolverhampton and the motorway network, which is why the club is perfectly situated for corporate golf days and visiting societies.

The course was formed in 1892 and measures a challenging 6512 yards.  Whilst only a par 71, the SSS of 72 shows how challenging a test of golf it is, possessing a series of interesting and challenging holes, including no fewer than six par four holes of over 400 yards from the Medal Tees, demanding a mixture of skill and imagination to play them well.
