Walsall Golf Club offers a challenging
test of golf, hidden away in the heart of the West Midlands,
an oasis of tranquility with a superb clubhouse and dining
facilities.
Having celebrated our Centenary in 2007,
Walsall Golf Club is steeped in tradition and history.
Designed by the famous Dr. Alistair
MacKenzie at the same time as he was designing Augusta, home
of the US Masters.
Today Walsall Golf Club still holds the
characteristic two tiered greens and irregular shaped bunkers
like many of MacKenzie’s famous designs. Many deciduous trees
have been planted over the years which add to the landscape
and accuracy for the golfer.
The front nine holes run in a clockwise
direction around the perimeter of the course. These holes
include gentle par 4s to begin then the pressure is increased
at the dogleg third hole and testing par 3 fourth hole.
Moving on to the back nine the holes turn
inwards, zigzagging their way through the centre of the
course, with long testing par 4s, dog legs left and right.
Ending with our challenging 18th hole playing downhill to the
green just in front of the Clubhouse, protected by a stream
just before the green, tempting long hitters to challenge with
their second shots.
Walsall Golf Club are delighted to welcome
visitors to the Course and Clubhouse. Tailor made packages to
suit your needs for Company Days, Society Days, Captains Away
Days or a friendly four ball, we are always happy to discuss
your requirements.
